Do you notice how many people are on the cardio machines?? The treadmills are packed, the elipticals have a line of people waiting. Please people stay there!! Why, because if all those sweating cardio addicts read this blog post I won't have any equipment left to strength train with. A recent study and a new book out (The Cardio-free diet) only confirms what I have believed my entire strength training career. CARDIO DOES NOT HELP YOU LOSE FAT!!. The only thing cardio is good for is burning calories. Have you paid attention to the way you feel after a great weight training workout. You are absolutely insanely starving within 30 minutes. This is your metabolism being raised to a maximum level and your body efficiently using energy (food) to resupply your muscles that were just completely destroyed. This does not happen after you step off your cardio machines. At the risk of offending a few, have you noticed the people on the cardio machines? Most of them are out of shape and overweight. The women and men that you think might be thin are carrying a lot more extra body fat that you think. I call this skinny fat!!! Basically the muscle has been so destroyed by excessive cardio the only thing attached to the bone is fat. There isn't much muscle left. Compare the way a marathon runner looks to a sprinter. Who would you rather look like?? I know this is going to be a little controversial with doctors as well. Especially the doctors who are focused on the science they learned in medical schools 20 years ago. Times change, its time to cut down on the cardio and add those hours towards a quality strength training program.
Jason Stone

Jason,
I would like to borrow this book to read more about his theory.
